Real Madrid seal early agreement to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold as Spanish giants agree transfer fee with Liverpool.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s transfer to Real Madrid has been officially confirmed, as further details emerge about the distinctive arrangement Liverpool reached with the Spanish giants.

The England international had long been tipped to join Los Blancos, and earlier this month, he publicly revealed that he would depart Liverpool once his contract expired.

Following an emotional farewell — which included lifting the Premier League trophy — The Athletic reports that Alexander-Arnold will reunite with England teammate Jude Bellingham and commit to a six-year deal at Real Madrid.

As is standard in Spain, a substantial release clause will be included in his contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Although the move was initially expected to be a free transfer, Real Madrid will pay Liverpool a one-off fee of £8.4 million to secure his early release, allowing him to participate in the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States, which begins in June.

Liverpool issued an official statement confirming his departure, noting that they will not be liable for his remaining wages or any associated bonuses.

The deal, finalized on the day of Liverpool’s title parade, will become official on June 1. Over his Liverpool career, Alexander-Arnold made 354 appearances, scored 23 goals, and registered 92 assists, helping the club win eight major trophies. Liverpool expressed their gratitude for his role in one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

Alexander-Arnold is expected to make his debut for Real Madrid against Al Hilal on June 18, with further Club World Cup group matches against Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg to follow.
