Isak to Liverpool? Final 40 Hours Could Be Decisive

In under two days, we’ll know if Alexander Isak will join Liverpool for the final stretch of 2025.

So far, the Reds have made only one official bid – a £110m offer rejected by Newcastle at the beginning of August (The Guardian). Despite Newcastle recently signing Nick Woltemade, talk of a £130m agreement between the clubs seems premature.

Liverpool Remain Hopeful

On Saturday night, Fabrizio Romano shared an update via his YouTube channel, stating that while no deal is in place, Liverpool remain “optimistic” about securing Isak before Monday’s 7pm deadline.

“All parties – Liverpool, Newcastle, and the player’s camp – deny an agreement has been reached,” Romano said. “But Liverpool haven’t pursued other options despite several being offered this week. Their focus remains on Isak.”

He added that the Swedish striker still wants the move, and the Reds believe a deal is possible.

Final Bid Incoming?

Liverpool have held off submitting a second offer, aware that a higher bid – or a shift in circumstances – would be needed to move the needle. With Woltemade now at Newcastle and Isak reportedly still pushing for the move, FSG may feel it’s time to act.

Journalist Ben Jacobs suggests any deal won’t exceed £130m, despite Newcastle’s reported £150m valuation. Still, Liverpool may be preparing a final offer that could test the Magpies’ resolve.

With the transfer window closing soon, all eyes are on whether Liverpool will make a decisive move – and whether Newcastle will finally listen.
