European giants make official offer and open negotiations for Liverpool legend in last-minute transfer move.

AC Milan Submit Official Bid for Liverpool’s Joe Gomez Amid Defensive Reinforcement Push

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan have officially approached Liverpool with a bid for defender Joe Gomez. The two clubs are now in active talks over a potential permanent transfer.

The Italian side have been keeping tabs on Gomez for several weeks and, following internal discussions, have made a formal move to bring the experienced English defender to the San Siro.

Gomez, currently the longest-serving player in Liverpool’s squad, has made 242 appearances for the club throughout his career.

Milan’s Plans to Bolster the Backline

The Rossoneri are focused on reinforcing their defense ahead of what promises to be a demanding season. Injuries in recent years have exposed Milan’s lack of depth at the back, and Gomez is seen as a reliable, flexible option—capable of playing not only at centre-back, but also at right-back and left-back.

Having served primarily as a rotational player at Anfield, Gomez is now believed to be open to a move that would offer him more regular first-team football.

While Liverpool are not opposed to letting the 27-year-old leave, Romano notes that any deal will hinge on the club completing the signing of Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

The Reds have already tabled a £35 million offer for the England international, who is said to have agreed personal terms. However, Palace are holding out for a higher fee and have not yet accepted the bid.

If Guehi’s transfer goes through, Liverpool would be willing to part ways with Gomez, knowing a replacement is secured. Until then, Gomez remains a vital part of Arne Slot’s squad as they prepare to compete across multiple competitions this season.
