Arsenal receives a message regarding Victor Osimhen transfer as Kai Havertz faces harsh criticism over ‘world-class’ label.

Arsenal have been urged to prioritize signing Victor Osimhen, with current first-choice striker Kai Havertz deemed “nowhere near” the world-class standard required for the club to compete at the highest level.

Last season, Mikel Arteta’s side excelled in attack, scoring 91 Premier League goals as they finished second to Manchester City. However, the goals were distributed across the team, with Bukayo Saka leading with 16—far behind Erling Haaland’s 27. Havertz, primarily a midfielder at the time, contributed 13 goals in his first year at Arsenal.

This season, Havertz has been deployed as a No.9 but has only managed four goals in 11 Premier League matches, alongside one in the Champions League and two in the Carabao Cup. While respectable, these numbers pale in comparison to top scorers like Mohamed Salah (8) and Haaland (12).

Former Arsenal captain William Gallas criticized Havertz’s suitability for the role, stating the German international is a “good player” but not at a “world-class” level. Speaking to Genting Casino, Gallas said Arsenal must “wake up” and make an “obvious” move for Osimhen to remain competitive with Manchester City and Liverpool.

“Kai Havertz has never been the right man to lead Arsenal to a Premier League title. Arsenal need a top-class striker, and Osimhen is the ideal choice,” Gallas said. “It’s baffling that Osimhen, after excelling at Napoli, ended up at Galatasaray. He needs to play in the Premier League, and Arsenal is the perfect fit.”

Gallas emphasized the importance of squad depth, pointing out that Manchester City and Liverpool maintain high standards because of their strong, competitive squads. He urged Arsenal to adopt a similar approach to sustain their title ambitions.
