Liverpool FC are actively pushing hard to find replacements for Mohamed Salah, with a cash-plus-player swap deal also a possible option.
Liverpool FC are said to be working intensively behind the scenes as they assess the best possible options to replace Mohamed Salah.
The club had already been monitoring winger targets due to ongoing uncertainty around Salah’s future, which has now been settled with confirmation that he will leave Anfield at the end of the season. Potential replacements being considered include Michael Olise and Yan Diomande.
As for Salah, his next move could take him to the Saudi Pro League, with clubs like Al Nassr or Al Ittihad in the picture, though a switch to San Diego FC in the United States is also a possibility, with no final decision made yet.
Finding a successor to a player of Salah’s stature will be a major challenge, but Olise and Diomande are among the most discussed options. One source claims Liverpool are pushing hard to secure a marquee signing, with Olise viewed as a top target. Although Bayern Munich have shown no clear willingness to negotiate, Liverpool remain hopeful they could convince the player to return to the Premier League.
Olise has been outstanding this season, delivering 19 goals and 24 assists, numbers that reflect the level Liverpool will need to replace Salah’s impact. However, securing such a player would likely require a significant financial outlay, similar to recent big-money signings like Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz. Whether the club can afford another major investment without player sales remains uncertain.
One possible outgoing is Cody Gakpo, who previously attracted interest from Bayern. While no negotiations are currently ongoing, he could be sold for the right price or even included in a swap deal involving Olise.
Meanwhile, Diomande has impressed at RB Leipzig, and manager Arne Slot is believed to admire him, even if he is not yet as established as Salah or Olise.
With elite attacking options limited in the current market, Liverpool face a difficult task, but preparations are already underway as they plan for a future without their long-time star.
