Official: Real Madrid player successfully completes surgery

La Liga giants Real Madrid announced on Tuesday that Éder Militão has successfully undergone knee surgery.

The Brazilian defender faced another devastating setback earlier this month during Real’s 4-0 La Liga victory over Osasuna. Militão went down in visible pain and had to be stretchered off, raising immediate concerns.

Subsequent medical tests confirmed the worst—a second ACL tear in just over a year.

Since then, the 26-year-old has been recovering at home, preparing for a challenging rehabilitation process. On Tuesday, however, he took a significant step forward in his recovery.

In an official statement, Real Madrid revealed:

*”Our player Eder Militão has successfully undergone surgery today on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The operation was performed by Dr. Manuel Leyes, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services.

Militão will start his recovery process in the next few days.”*
