Alexander Isak and His Agent Break Silence Following Liverpool Move

Alexander Isak and His Agent Deliver Starkly Different Farewells After Record Liverpool Move

Alexander Isak and his agent have both addressed Newcastle United following the striker’s historic transfer to Liverpool — but their parting messages couldn’t have been more different in tone.

Late Monday evening, Liverpool confirmed the arrival of the Swedish international, whose £125 million fee reportedly makes him the most expensive player ever signed by a British club.

The move has stirred up considerable controversy on Tyneside, particularly as the 25-year-old openly expressed his wish to leave St James’ Park and was left out of Newcastle’s opening three games of the season — including one against his new club.

Isak and Agent Speak Out After Liverpool Switch

Despite the fallout from his exit, Isak took to Instagram to share a sincere message of appreciation for Newcastle, its fans, and his former teammates.

“I want to thank my teammates, the staff, and most importantly, the people of Newcastle and all the incredible fans for three unforgettable years,” he wrote.

“Together, we made history — from qualifying for the Champions League to lifting the club’s first trophy in over 70 years. It’s been an honour to be part of that journey. I’ll always be grateful. Thank you, Newcastle.”

In contrast, Isak’s agent, Vlado Lemic, offered a far more cutting remark. During an appearance on talkSPORT, presenter Jim White read out Lemic’s comment regarding the transfer:
“It’s nice to have someone by your side — but even nicer when you realize who you’ll never have to be with again.”

Fresh Start After a Tumultuous Summer

Although Isak’s departure angered many Newcastle supporters, some fans responded to his farewell message with class, thanking him for his contributions.

The transfer saga dragged on throughout the summer, filled with tension and uncertainty. Now, with the deal complete just before the deadline, both the player and Liverpool can look ahead. Isak won’t make his debut until after the international break, but expectations are high. His impressive Premier League record — 54 goals in 86 appearances — speaks for itself.

Now that the dust has settled, Isak can finally turn his focus back to football, aiming to carry his stellar form into his new chapter at Anfield. The six-year contract gives him time — but fans are already eager to see him in Liverpool red.
