Manchester United may reconsider a transfer decision made under Erik ten Hag as Ruben Amorim prepares for his first signing.

Manchester United have reportedly identified the left wing-back position as a key area to strengthen during the January transfer window, with three potential targets already on their radar.

With the winter window just weeks away, preparations are underway, marking the first transfer period for new head coach Ruben Amorim. Over the coming weeks, Amorim will evaluate his squad and determine priorities. According to the Daily Star, while United are eager to secure a new left wing-back in January, limited funds might delay any moves until the summer.

The report highlights that Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies is a top target, potentially available on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season. However, Bayern are keen to extend his deal, and Real Madrid are also interested. Another option is Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, who is reportedly admired by Liverpool and Chelsea as well.

The third name on the list is Alvaro Carreras, a former United academy player who joined Benfica in the summer for £7.5 million. United included a buy-back clause in the deal, valued at just under £17 million, and have been closely monitoring the 21-year-old Spain U21 international.
