Real Madrid face a major blow ahead of their clash with Liverpool as a key player is ruled out for the Champions League titleholders.

Real Madrid have been hit with another injury setback ahead of their Champions League clash against Liverpool this week.

Carlo Ancelotti’s squad has been plagued by injuries this season, with defenders Dani Carvajal and Éder Militão both sidelined by anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in recent weeks. David Alaba also remains out as he continues to recover from a similar issue sustained last November. Additionally, Lucas Vázquez, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Rodrygo are unavailable.

In a fresh blow, the club has announced that Vinícius Júnior will miss the trip to Anfield due to a leg injury. A statement from Real Madrid confirmed: “Following tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player Vini Jr, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. His progress will be monitored.”

The reigning Champions League holders have struggled in the group stage, losing two of their first four matches. Their 3-1 home defeat to AC Milan in the previous round leaves them in 18th place, currently on track for only a playoff spot unless their form improves.
