After the match, Guardiola was seen with visible scratches on his face. When asked about them during the post-match press conference, he explained: “Yeah, my finger here. My nail. I want to harm myself.”

The draw came amid mounting pressure, as City entered the match on a five-game losing streak. Despite initially seeming to regain their dominance—thanks to two goals from Erling Haaland and one from Ilkay Gundogan—City collapsed in the final 15 minutes. Speaking to Amazon Prime Sport, Guardiola admitted: “We are not stable. We give them the first goal and then the others, so that’s why it’s difficult. We’ve lost a lot of games lately. We are fragile and needed a victory.”

He continued, “The game was good for confidence. We played at a good level, but something happened, and then we had problems. I don’t know if it’s mental. The first goal cannot happen, and the second as well. We are desperate to win and do well, but we don’t win games. The situation is what it is.”

City now faces a crucial Premier League clash at Anfield against rivals Liverpool. A loss could leave the defending champions 11 points behind the league leaders with just 13 matches played, raising further concerns about their form.
