On Thursday, Ruben Amorim marked his first victory as United’s manager, guiding his side to a comeback win over Norwegian team Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League. Amorim now aims for his first Premier League win when United hosts Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Højlund, who has been in excellent form, scoring twice against Bodo/Glimt, will look to continue his scoring streak against Everton. Ahead of the match, Everton’s Jesper Lindström shared a conversation with Højlund, revealing that the United striker jokingly responded to his warning not to score this weekend.

Lindström explained to the Daily Mail: “I texted him to congratulate him on his two goals, but told him not to score this weekend. He replied, saying he would do his best to score.”

Lindström also reflected on Højlund’s early struggles before making a name for himself in Italy. “I knew him from when he was about 10 years old. Back then, his Danish team didn’t believe in him, which is why he left for Austria, where he thrived. He then moved to Italy and succeeded there too,” Lindström said. “There’s a reason why Rasmus is at Manchester United—he’s a talented player, as you saw on Thursday with his great finishes.”

Lindström, who has faced his own challenges adapting to English football, is confident he will improve as he gets more playing time. “As I get more game-time, I’ll find my rhythm. I don’t get cramps after 60 minutes anymore, so I’m getting back to form. I just need that final moment,” he shared. “I’ll do everything I can to prove I’m good enough for them to buy me because I enjoy it here—the training, the privacy, the life here. Hopefully, they’ll buy me, but I need to show them I’m ready.”
