Manchester United fans share strong opinions on Ruud Van Nistelrooy following his debut victory with Leicester.
Ruud van Nistelrooy managed his first game as Leicester City’s head coach this evening, and fans have been buzzing with reactions.
The 48-year-old Dutchman led Leicester to an impressive 3-1 victory over West Ham at the King Power Stadium. Jamie Vardy scored just two minutes in, while Bilal El Khannouss and Patson Daka added second-half goals. West Ham’s Niclas Fullkrug netted a late consolation in the 93rd minute.
The win lifted Leicester to 15th in the Premier League, moving them four points clear of the relegation zone.
Van Nistelrooy, who briefly served as interim manager at Manchester United after Erik ten Hag’s dismissal in October, has sparked conversations among fans who believe he could one day take over United permanently.
One fan declared, “Ruud, see you at Manchester United in 2029.”
Another commented, “Ruud van Nistelrooy is already transforming Leicester. Will United regret not giving him the job?”
Others added sentiments like “Future United coach for sure” and “Van Nistelrooy is cooking something special.”
Reflecting on his departure from United when Ruben Amorim was appointed, Van Nistelrooy told BBC Sport, “I was disappointed to leave, but I understood the decision. Ruben and I had a respectful conversation, which helped me move forward.”
He has since signed a two-year deal with Leicester, taking over from Steve Cooper. Fans are now eager to see how his tenure at the F
oxes unfolds.
