During the match, Guardiola responded to chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning” by holding up six fingers, symbolizing the number of Premier League titles he has won with City. He explained that the unexpected chant prompted his reaction, which he repeated to City’s traveling supporters after the game. When asked if his behavior suggested he was “losing his cool,” Guardiola quipped, “I was never cool. I was only cool because we won. When you don’t win, it’s completely the opposite.”

Guardiola’s actions drew comparisons to Mourinho, who famously held up three fingers while managing Manchester United to highlight his Premier League title wins with Chelsea, demanding “respect.” When asked if his own gesture signaled “the beginning of the end,” Guardiola responded with a subtle jab, pointing out that he has double Mourinho’s tally of Premier League titles.
