Arsenal fans urge Mikel Arteta to quickly replace a specific player, as a harsh Fulham chant captures the sentiment.
Arsenal fans are furious after dropping points in a 1-1 draw against Fulham and are calling on Mikel Arteta to make a significant change to the lineup.
The Gunners fell behind in the first half to a Raul Jimenez strike but leveled the score after the break through a close-range header from William Saliba. Arsenal continued to threaten through set pieces and crosses and thought they had secured a late winner when Bukayo Saka found the net. However, the goal was disallowed by VAR due to Gabriel Martinelli being offside, leaving Arsenal unable to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool to four points.
Despite recent wins over West Ham and Manchester United, fans believe Arteta needs to address the team’s inconsistency by making a key substitution. Many are urging him to drop Kai Havertz, who, despite assisting Saliba’s goal, has faced criticism. Fulham fans added to the pressure by taunting Havertz as a “Chelsea reject” when he was substituted.
Supporters voiced their frustration on social media, with one writing, “Both Jesus and Havertz are so poor. We need a proper center forward desperately.” Another added, “Please sign another striker; Havertz is not good enough,” while a third complained, “Every ball into the box, Havertz is nowhere to be seen. It’s frustrating.”
Havertz, who has scored five goals in 14 league appearances this season, remains Arteta’s preferred option as a center forward. In October, Arteta expressed confidence that Havertz could score 20 goals in a season, but this optimism isn’t shared by all Arsenal fans.
