Sources: Liverpool nearing agreement for Alphonso Davies.

Liverpool scouts have been monitoring Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies with a view to a potential free transfer, sources reveal. The 24-year-old left-back’s contract expires at the end of the season, allowing him to negotiate a pre-contract deal starting in January. While a significant signing-on fee and high wage demands pose challenges, Liverpool believe an agreement can be reached.

Although Real Madrid is currently seen as the frontrunner for Davies’ signature, Liverpool and other top European clubs remain interested. Real Madrid has been actively working to convince Davies to join, but Liverpool’s scouting efforts reflect their intent to secure the highly-regarded player. Concerns over Andy Robertson’s recent performances have fueled Liverpool’s search for a potential replacement.

Meanwhile, Manchester United, under Ruben Amorim, is also exploring Davies as they aim to strengthen their left-back options amid Luke Shaw’s injury concerns and Tyrell Malacia’s inconsistent form. Former United scout Mick Brown noted that United could rival Madrid for Davies, while other targets like Milos Kerkez and Antonee Robinson remain on Liverpool’s radar.
