Arsenal’s significant edge in the Premier League title race revealed.

Between their 5-1 victory over Sporting Lisbon in late November and their visit to Wolves in January, Arsenal will cover less than 200 miles across 14 fixtures.

Despite dealing with key injuries, Arsenal’s travel burden is minimal compared to Chelsea, Manchester City, and Arne Slot’s league-leading side. Chelsea, fresh off their win at Tottenham, must now contend with an 8,500-mile round trip to Kazakhstan for a Conference League clash against Astana. Manager Enzo Maresca plans to rest key players but acknowledges the physical and mental toll of such extensive travel, especially with a Premier League match against Brentford scheduled shortly after.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will already be back from Girona by then, likely securing a Champions League play-off bypass. In contrast, Slot’s team faces three trips of over 400 miles in late December after a tough outing at Newcastle, while Arsenal comfortably hosted Manchester United.

Manchester City also find themselves stretched thin. Their return from Crystal Palace was delayed due to Storm Darragh, forcing a long coach journey home. They now face a critical Champions League tie against Juventus, followed by a Manchester derby, with even more draining fixtures on the horizon in January.

Arsenal’s shorter travel schedule, aided by the proximity of their London rivals, offers them a key advantage during this intense period. Midfielder Jorginho emphasized the importance of capitalizing on their home strength, stating, “We need to try and win as much as possible.”

Failing to maximize this short-term advantage, however, could make their path to Premier League glory far more challenging.
