Scott McTominay plays a crucial part as Napoli receives approval to sign a second Manchester United player in a surprising transfer deal.

Scott McTominay may soon be joined by another Manchester United player at Napoli, following his impressive start in Serie A.

Although Erik ten Hag was hesitant to part with McTominay, the academy graduate was sold in the summer for £25.4 million to help United meet Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Since moving to Italy, McTominay has thrived, contributing four goals and two assists for Antonio Conte’s team, who currently sit second in Serie A, just two points behind the leaders after 15 games.

The 28-year-old is joined in Naples by fellow Scotsman Billy Gilmour and former United teammate Romelu Lukaku. Now, fresh reports suggest that Conte has approved a move for another United player—struggling striker Joshua Zirkzee.

According to Il Mattino via Stretty News, Napoli are interested in the Dutch international, who joined United in the summer from Bologna for £34 million and inherited the No.11 shirt. Despite his promising arrival, Zirkzee has struggled at Old Trafford, scoring just three goals in 21 appearances, with only one in the Premier League. Senior figures at INEOS reportedly view him as a “lost cause.”

With just four Premier League starts this season, Napoli sees an opportunity to strengthen their attack and could pursue a loan deal for Zirkzee, given his five-year contract worth £105,000 per week. Earlier links suggested Sporting CP and Aston Villa as potential destinations, but a January move to Napoli now appears to be under consideration.

However, Italian agent Vincenzo Morabito, who often facilitates deals between clubs in England and Italy, has dismissed the possibility of Zirkzee leaving in January. Speaking to Radio Marte via Sport Witness, he said:
