Arsenal face a significant risk of losing Thomas Partey on a free transfer next summer. The 31-year-old Ghanaian midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season, allowing him to negotiate with other clubs starting January 1. Despite his resurgence as a key player this season, with 21 appearances across all competitions and contributions including two goals and an assist, contract talks have stalled.

Manager Mikel Arteta has praised Partey’s consistency and hinted at finding “the right time” to discuss a renewal. However, strong interest from Saudi Pro League clubs and other European teams adds pressure on Arsenal, especially given the lack of progress in extending his five-year deal signed upon his £45 million move from Atletico Madrid in 2020.

Partey has been integral to Arsenal’s midfield and has also featured at right-back this season. Despite struggling with injuries in previous campaigns, his performances and fitness levels have improved, making his future a critical issue for the club. Arsenal previously considered offers for him but were unable to agree on acceptable terms.

While Arsenal have secured long-term deals for players like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and William Saliba, and added Mikel Merino as a potential midfield successor, they now risk losing Partey without compensation if no resolution is reached.
