At 30, Fernandes still holds considerable market value, and Carragher believes his sale could help Amorim rebuild the squad. He added that while Fernandes is a talented playmaker, his indiscipline on and off the ball makes it difficult for United to maintain a compact defensive structure, often frustrating managers.

On Rashford, Carragher labeled his potential sale a “no-brainer,” criticizing his poor goal return—just 11 league goals in his last 48 appearances—and failure to fulfill the promise he showed early in his career. He stated that Rashford, now 27, should be in his prime but has not delivered the consistency required to lead United to Premier League or Champions League success.
