Arsenal supporters are urging Mikel Arteta to bench a key player following his disappointing performance against Everton, expressing their frustration and saying they’ve had enough.

Arsenal fans have urged manager Mikel Arteta to bench one of his players following the team’s 0-0 draw with Everton on Saturday, which saw them drop two crucial points in the Premier League title race. The result prevented Arsenal from closing the gap on league leaders Liverpool, who also drew 2-2 with Fulham. Despite dominating possession with 76% of the ball, Arsenal could only manage 13 shots on Everton’s goal, while the visitors had just two shots but held firm defensively to secure their fourth clean sheet in five matches.

Arsenal now sit six points behind Liverpool, although they have a game in hand, and are one point behind second-placed Chelsea. With two upcoming matches against Crystal Palace, Arsenal fans are calling for a change in attack, particularly regarding Gabriel Martinelli’s recent performances. Martinelli struggled against Everton’s Ashley Young, failing to score or assist in his last four matches, and was dispossessed twice without completing a dribble.

On social media, fans expressed frustration, with one commenting, “Every Martinelli touch is an Everton counterattack,” and another suggesting, “Raheem Sterling will be more effective on the wing than Martinelli every day.” Some even blamed Martinelli for his own lack of form, with one fan writing, “Everybody gets the blame for Martinelli’s form except Martinelli himself.” The winger had also been criticized by Arsenal legend Paul Merson after a disallowed goal against Fulham, where his offside position led to a VAR review. Merson said, “You can’t be offside. You’re looking along the line… I’d be surprised if he isn’t on the end of one from the manage

r.”
