Bernardo Silva criticized his Manchester City teammates, labeling some of their actions as “stupid” in an unrestrained outburst after their loss to Manchester United.

After Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United, midfielder Bernardo Silva launched a harsh critique of his teammates. Despite City initially taking the lead through Josko Gvardiol, two quick goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo handed United the win, leaving City with only one victory in their last 11 matches. This poor run has placed them at the bottom of the Premier League’s points-per-game chart since November.

Silva did not hold back in his post-match comments, calling the loss “stupid” and emphasizing that the team had earned the defeat due to poor decision-making. Speaking to Sky Sports, he stated, “At this level, if it’s just one or two games, you could say it’s bad luck, but when it’s 10 games, it’s not about that. If you’re winning 1-0 in the 87th minute of a derby, and a corner ends up with a penalty for the opposition, you deserve to pay for making such stupid decisions.”

He further criticized the team’s performance, especially in the final moments, saying, “We played like Under-15s in the last minutes, and at this level, there’s no excuse for that. We deserved what happened.”

When asked about Mattheus Nunes, responsible for giving away the penalty that equalized the game, Silva acknowledged collective responsibility. “It’s not about one or two players; it’s a team issue. We all need to look at ourselves and see what we can do better,” he said.
