Micah Richards points to a single player that Manchester City can hold responsible for their poor form after the loss to Manchester United.

Micah Richards has singled out one player that Manchester City can “blame” for their recent struggles following their 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Sunday.

The defeat extended City’s poor form to just one win in their last 11 matches across all competitions. United scored both of their goals in quick succession late in the game, with Matheus Nunes conceding a penalty in the 88th minute for a foul on Amad Diallo, which Bruno Fernandes converted. Just moments later, Amad netted the winner, finishing a brilliant pass from Lisandro Martinez.

Richards didn’t hesitate in pointing out the key player responsible for City’s downturn in form, particularly in the early stages of the match. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said, “We can blame Rodri, especially in the early stages, as he’s crucial to how they control the game. He’s vital to the team’s setup. But it’s more than just him, it’s a collective issue.”

On City’s overall performance, Richards added, “They lack creativity and resilience. Right now, they’re too easy to play against. It’s tough to criticize them given their past success, but they’ve really dropped off. You’d expect them to bounce back, but at the moment they seem far from doing that. I can’t believe what I’m seeing. One win in 11 – it’s shocking for a team that was once so dominant.”
