Mikel Arteta plans to involve an Arsenal player in a remarkable swap deal to finalize a major transfer.
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to include one of their players in a swap deal to secure a proven goal scorer, potentially transforming Mikel Arteta’s team.
Currently sitting third in the Premier League, the Gunners trail second-place Chelsea by four points and are six points behind leaders Liverpool. While Arsenal remain among the top teams in the league, they lack consistent firepower in the final third.
Aside from Bukayo Saka—who has delivered 22 goals and nine assists this season—Arteta’s side lacks a clinical finisher. Gabriel Martinelli has struggled for consistency, scoring just four goals in 22 matches, while Kai Havertz has managed 10 goals in 23 appearances but still faces criticism for underwhelming performances in crucial matches.
According to Caught Offside, Arsenal may offer Gabriel Jesus to Juventus in exchange for Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic. Jesus, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City in July 2022 for £45 million, has struggled to establish himself as a reliable goal scorer. This season, he has only scored once, against Preston in the Carabao Cup. Despite Arteta’s public support, the manager acknowledged that Jesus needs to improve his output.
Vlahovic, 24, is a dynamic and clinical striker who has scored 12 goals in 20 games for Juventus this season, bringing his total to 53 goals in 121 appearances for the club. His current contract runs until 2026, with a valuation of £54 million. However, there are questions over his relationship with Juventus, as he recently expressed frustration with defensive responsibilities under coach Thiago Motta and clashed with fans during a Serie A match.
While it’s unclear if Juventus are open to selling Vlahovic, his qualities and Premier League potential make him a prime target for Arsenal as they aim to strengthen their attacking
options.
