Ibrahima Konaté responds to a fan after Bukayo Saka’s injury and takes a harsh swipe at Arsenal supporters.

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté has taken a sharp swipe at Arsenal fans following the injury of their star player, Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal kept the pressure on Premier League leaders Liverpool with a commanding 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday. However, the win was overshadowed by Saka’s early departure due to injury, with the forward later seen on crutches.

In response to comparisons between Saka’s injury and the one Konaté suffered last month, the French defender addressed comments made by Arsenal fans. After Konaté sustained an injury during Liverpool’s 2-0 Champions League win over Real Madrid, one Arsenal supporter had posted on X: “Rivalry aside I hope Konaté’s injury is serious.”

Following Saka’s injury, a Liverpool fan shared a screenshot of the Arsenal fan’s comment, captioned: “Karma is a b****.” Konaté replied to the post, writing: “We are not like them, we wish no harm. Anyway In Sha Allah big 3 pts today.”

Konaté is currently sidelined with his own injury and missed Liverpool’s game against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. He is expected to remain unavailable for the near future.

Ahead of the match, Liverpool manager Arne Slot provided an update on the fitness of Konaté and teammate Conor Bradley, stating: “These two are still ‘in the red,’ so they’re not training with us at the moment. They’re making progress but aren’t ready to rejoin the team yet.”
