Exclusive: FC Zurich has initiated talks to sign Arsenal’s Butler-Oyedeji.

Arsenal forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji has drawn interest from Swiss club FC Zurich, according to sources at Football Insider.

FC Zurich has approached Arsenal to inquire about the 21-year-old’s availability ahead of the January transfer window, as they aim to strengthen their attacking lineup. However, negotiations between Arsenal and Butler-Oyedeji over a new contract have reportedly stalled.

The young attacker made an impression during Arsenal’s pre-season and has featured on the bench in both the Premier League and Champions League this season. His performances for Arsenal’s Under-21s have been outstanding, with seven goals and six assists in just nine games.

London-born Butler-Oyedeji joined Arsenal’s academy at the age of eight and signed his first professional contract in 2021. He has gained senior experience during loan spells at Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham Town in League One, amassing 24 appearances. He has also represented Arsenal in the EFL Trophy and captained their Under-21 side in Premier League 2 this season.

Versatile in attack, Butler-Oyedeji has been deployed as a winger on both flanks and as a central forward. His potential follows the pathway of Arsenal academy stars like Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, and Reiss Nelson, among others.
