Aaron Ramsdale received an 11-word message from an Arsenal legend following his Sky Sports interview.

David Seaman shared that he encouraged Aaron Ramsdale to “have a belter” before a match against Arsenal earlier this season. The 61-year-old former England goalkeeper has formed a strong bond with Ramsdale, who was Arsenal’s first-choice keeper from 2021 to 2024. Seaman reportedly provided informal training sessions for Ramsdale when he first joined Arsenal in a £24 million transfer from Sheffield United.

Ramsdale made 89 appearances for the Gunners but moved to Southampton this summer after falling behind new signing David Raya in Mikel Arteta’s plans. Despite Ramsdale’s departure, Seaman revealed on the Seaman Says podcast via Betway that he continues to support him. Before Southampton’s October clash with Arsenal, Seaman texted Ramsdale: “Brilliant interview on Sky, play your game, and have a belter.”

Although Arsenal won the match 3-1, Seaman praised Ramsdale’s performance, especially considering the second goal Arsenal scored. He noted Ramsdale’s efforts to adjust to the close-range header and added that despite conceding three goals, the keeper also made key saves.
