The Liverpool FC Help account advised fans via social media to leave earlier than usual for the game, stating: “If you are coming to the match today, please ensure you set off earlier than usual due to foggy conditions in and around Anfield stadium. Please take care when travelling.”

Journalist James Pearce of The Athletic also commented: “As things stand, Liverpool still expecting tonight’s game v Leicester City to go ahead. Thick fog on Merseyside a concern – but officials insist there is no 4pm pitch inspection at Anfield.”
