Arne Slot addresses Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool celebration post amidst speculation linking him to Real Madrid.

Arne Slot has addressed Trent Alexander-Arnold’s celebration following Liverpool’s dominant 5-0 victory over West Ham in the Premier League.

The Reds extended their unbeaten streak to 23 matches across all competitions with a commanding performance, featuring goals from Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Alexander-Arnold, and Diogo Jota. Alexander-Arnold’s deflected strike from 22 yards made it 4-0, while Jota added the fifth in injury time, compounding West Ham’s woes at the London Stadium after their earlier 5-2 loss to Arsenal.

Liverpool now sit eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, ahead of Nottingham Forest, who have played one game more. Arsenal trail nine points behind in third and face Brentford on New Year’s Day.

However, speculation around Alexander-Arnold’s future has caused a stir, with conflicting reports emerging. While Spanish outlets claim he has expressed interest in joining Real Madrid next summer, local sources deny these rumors. After his goal, Alexander-Arnold appeared to respond to the speculation with a hand gesture mimicking “talking.”

When questioned about the celebration, Slot commented: “I don’t see it as negative at all. He scored a fantastic goal, and his celebration speaks volumes. I don’t think I need to elaborate further.

“I’m delighted with Trent, just as I am with Mo [Salah] and Virgil [van Dijk]. Outside speculation might differ, but for me, there’s no distinction—I’m happy with all three.

“People will continue talking, not just about these three players but also about others. January is always a period of transfers, so there will be discussions about potential arrivals and departures. That’s just the nature of this tim

e of year.”
