The report adds that discussions with Madrid did not progress to financial negotiations, with Liverpool showing little willingness to engage. This comes after Marca claimed Alexander-Arnold had informed Liverpool of his desire to join Real Madrid. However, the defender has continued to perform on the pitch, scoring in Liverpool’s recent 5-0 victory over West Ham and using a celebration that sparked speculation about its meaning.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot downplayed the speculation, praising Alexander-Arnold’s performance and dismissing concerns about his celebration.
