Arne Slot has addressed speculation surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future amid Real Madrid’s recent approach, emphasizing the defender’s commitment to Liverpool. Slot revealed that Alexander-Arnold, 26, has been “working his a*** off” in training and remains focused on the club despite interest from the European champions, who made an informal move earlier this week, hoping to secure the player in January rather than waiting for his contract to expire in the summer.

Liverpool rejected Real Madrid’s initial approach and are expected to dismiss any formal offers in the coming days. While Slot did not completely rule out a potential departure, he stated that Alexander-Arnold is concentrating on the team’s goals and is set to play against Manchester United on Sunday.

“Everyone has seen how fantastic he’s been this season and how much he’s invested in this team,” said Slot. “His performance against West Ham was incredible, particularly the assist for Mo Salah. He’s fully committed, and unless I hear otherwise, he’ll be in the squad on Sunday.”

Slot also dismissed concerns that transfer speculation could disrupt Liverpool’s title ambitions. “If external talk about players destabilized us, we’d have had problems long ago. This is part of playing for a top club—there’s always chatter about your players.”
