Manchester United fans are outraged by Arne Slot’s comments about them in his post-match interview.
Manchester United fans have been left furious with Arne Slot following his remarks about their team after the 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
United salvaged a point thanks to Amad Diallo’s late equalizer, after Mohamed Salah had put Liverpool ahead with a penalty. Earlier, Lisandro Martinez scored a stunning goal for United, only for Cody Gakpo to respond shortly after. Ruben Amorim’s side nearly snatched victory late on, but Harry Maguire’s effort from close range went over the bar.
The draw ended United’s three-game losing streak, and their performance offered plenty of positives for the traveling supporters. However, Slot took a different view, claiming his team deserved to win. Speaking to Sky Sports, he argued that Liverpool dominated for the majority of the match, particularly the first 75 minutes, during which he said United relied on long balls from goalkeeper André Onana.
Slot’s comments sparked backlash from United fans, who felt his analysis was far from accurate. One fan wrote, “Did Arne Slot watch the same game? United only played long balls with Onana for 75 minutes? Nonsense.” Another added, “Was Arne at a different game?”
A third described Slot’s comments as “one of the most deluded interviews of all time,” while a fourth accused him of being “disingenuous” and misrepresenting United’s tactics. Fans strongly disagreed with his assessment, particularly his claims about United’s style of play and Onana’s distri
bution.
