With the score locked at 1-1, referee Andy Madley awarded a penalty after Havertz went down following apparent contact with Maguire’s outstretched arm. However, with VAR not in use until the fifth round, Maguire’s protests were ignored, sparking a chaotic melee at the Emirates.

Maguire, visibly furious, was seen shouting at Havertz, who was pulled away by his Arsenal teammates. Fans quickly speculated that the Manchester United defender called the German forward a “cheat.”
