Man City set to make a massive offer for Serie A standout as part of a surprising move, with additional signings lined up for their January spending spree.

Manchester City are reportedly preparing a bid for a Serie A star as they aim to strengthen their squad with additional signings in January.

The Premier League champions are also said to be nearing deals for young defenders Abdukodir Khusanov from RC Lens and Vitor Reis from Palmeiras. These moves are intended to reinforce a backline that has struggled to maintain its usual solidity this season.

In addition, City are progressing towards securing Eintracht Frankfurt’s talisman Omar Marmoush. According to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, an “agreement in principle” has been reached, with final details under discussion. Fabrizio Romano has stated that City are confident the transfer will be completed soon.

During the summer, City made only two signings: Savinho from their sister club Troyes and Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer. However, the club now appears focused on addressing their underwhelming summer recruitment by ramping up activity in the January window.

On Thursday, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that City are closing in on Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso, with plans to submit a bid in the region of €60-65 million for the 24-year-old. Cambiaso, who has excelled under Thiago Motta at Juventus, has featured in 25 matches across all competitions this season.

Previously linked with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Arsenal, Cambiaso is now expected to join City, who are leading the race for his signature. His versatility, allowing him to play on both flanks of the defense, makes him a valuable addition. He would serve as a potential replacement for captain Kyle Walker, who has requested a mid-season move and is attracting interest from AC Milan.
