Manchester United player ‘agrees terms’ to exit the club, marking the first departure under Ruben Amorim’s tenure.

A Manchester United player has reportedly ‘agreed to leave’ the club on loan, marking a significant development under Ruben Amorim’s management.

Currently sitting 12th in the Premier League, United recently secured a 3-1 victory over Southampton at Old Trafford, powered by a 12-minute hat-trick from 22-year-old Amad. Amorim, now in his third month as manager, is refining his ideal squad, but he may be without a key defender for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

According to Voetbal International, Tyrell Malacia has ‘reached an agreement’ to depart on loan after limited game time, featuring in just two Premier League matches this season. Journalist Joost Blaauwhof states that “sources close to the player” confirm Malacia will leave during the January transfer window, though his destination remains undecided.

The 25-year-old left-back joined United from Feyenoord for £13m in 2022 and was a key figure under Erik ten Hag in his debut season, making 39 appearances. However, injuries have hindered his progress, including a severe knee issue that sidelined him for 17 months. After returning to action in November, Malacia impressed in a Europa League victory against Bodo/Glimt, with Amorim praising his bravery and performance.

While it’s uncertain if United will seek a direct replacement, Caught Offside reports that Amorim is interested in Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri. Valued at £30m and contracted until 2026, Ait-Nouri may be a costly addition.

Amorim has previously acknowledged the challenges of making January signings without offloading players, stating, “We don’t have the possibility to spend money without making

changes.”
