Liverpool set to compete with Chelsea for the signing of a 23-year-old Bundesliga forward: Reports

Chelsea are reportedly set to face strong competition from Liverpool in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi. According to Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool view the 23-year-old German as a potential successor to Mohamed Salah, whose contract situation remains uncertain. Napoli are also in the race for Adeyemi and have initiated talks with Dortmund, but no agreement has been reached, giving Chelsea and Liverpool an edge. The Premier League sides believe their higher level of football could be a decisive factor in securing the winger over the Serie A club.

Adeyemi has drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi, with former Polish player Janusz Gora highlighting his ability to cut in from the right, his speed, technique, and explosive talent. Gora described Adeyemi as a game-changer even in his early years, noting his knack for scoring and assisting.

Chelsea are focused on strengthening their attack, aiming to bring in a reliable goalscorer to support Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson. They are also monitoring Alejandro Garnacho as an alternative. Liverpool, on the other hand, are prioritizing a direct replacement for Salah, who is reportedly open to leaving at the end of the season. Salah has rejected the club’s latest contract offer, with PSG and Saudi Pro League clubs showing interest.

While Borussia Dortmund are reluctant to sell Adeyemi in January, they may consider a transfer in the summer. Both Chelsea and Liverpool are determined to land the German forward as they look to bolster their squads for the fu

ture.
