Liverpool fans have come to a disappointing realization about Federico Chiesa following his performance against Plymouth.

Liverpool fans have taken to social media to share their reactions to Federico Chiesa’s performance against Plymouth Argyle.

On Sunday afternoon, Arne Slot’s side traveled to Home Park for their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Championship strugglers Plymouth.

With the Merseyside derby approaching, Slot opted to rest key players such as Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Alexis Mac Allister, and Dominik Szoboszlai. As a result, several fringe players and youngsters were given the opportunity to impress.

Summer signing Chiesa, who has struggled to settle since his move to Anfield, started on the right wing as he continues working toward full match fitness. However, the Italian winger found it difficult to make an impact, and Liverpool grew increasingly frustrated against a determined Plymouth side.

Liverpool fans voice concerns over Chiesa’s performance

One fan commented: “Chiesa has lost all his pace…”

Another tweeted: “What happened to Chiesa’s pace? Where did it go?”

A third added: “Chiesa moves about as fast as me over 20 yards, bless him.”

Another supporter observed: “You can see why Chiesa was only £12m despite being just 27. His pace has completely gone due to those injuries. Sad to see.”

A fifth wrote: “Sad, but Chiesa doesn’t have his pace anymore.”

The second half saw a major shock as Plymouth were awarded a penalty after a handball by Harvey Elliott. Ryan Hardie converted from the spot in the 53rd minute to give the underdogs a stunning lead.

Despite Liverpool’s efforts to find an equalizer, Plymouth’s resolute defense held firm, securing a famous victory and knocking the Premier League leaders out of the FA Cup.

Liverpool will now turn their attention to Wednesday night’s Premier League clash against rivals Ev

erton at Goodison Park.
