Liverpool defender Conor Bradley is set for another spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury during the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa.

Bradley came on as a 66th-minute substitute for Trent Alexander-Arnold at Villa Park on Wednesday but had to be replaced in the 89th minute by Jarell Quansah after signaling discomfort to the Liverpool bench. The right-back had already missed six weeks earlier in the season due to a hamstring issue, and this latest setback presents a selection headache for Arne Slot. Having been a reliable alternative for Alexander-Arnold in recent matches, Bradley is now expected to miss Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures against Manchester City and Newcastle.

“It’s tough, but he felt something while sprinting,” Slot said in his post-match press conference. “When a player asks to come off, it’s usually not a good sign. I’d say there’s a 99.9 percent chance he won’t be available against Manchester City, and I don’t expect him to face Newcastle either. We’ll have to assess whether it’s a one- or two-week issue, or something more serious.”

Liverpool missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League after drawing in Birmingham.
