Liverpool’s 42-goal fan favorite set to return to Anfield next month.

Liverpool are in excellent form right now, and next month, a familiar face will be making a return to Anfield.

According to liverpoolfc.com, Peter Crouch has been added to the Liverpool FC Legends squad for an upcoming charity match in support of the LFC Foundation. This will mark the first time the former fan favorite dons the iconic red shirt since his final appearance for the club in April 2008.

The ex-striker will join fellow legends such as Dirk Kuyt, Martin Škrtel, Sami Hyypiä, and several other former Reds who have already been announced—or are yet to be—for the game.

The event promises to be a special occasion for both fans and the LFC Foundation, helping to raise significant funds while commemorating the anniversary of Liverpool’s historic 2005 Champions League triumph.

Crouch, now 44, will return to Anfield for the first time in 17 years. While last year’s legends match against Ajax featured four members of the Istanbul-winning squad, the former Stoke City forward was part of Liverpool’s 2007 final squad in Athens, having netted 42 goals across three seasons for the club.

These days, Crouch is more accustomed to sharing football insights on his podcast and analyzing big matches, but it’ll be fascinating to see if his skills on the pitch remain intact.
