“Arne Slot uncertain about 16-goal star’s fitness ahead of PSG showdown: ‘It’ll be a tight decision.'”

Liverpool might be without a key player for their crucial Champions League clash against PSG tomorrow.

Arne Slot has admitted he is uncertain whether Cody Gakpo will be available for selection at Parc des Princes. The Dutch forward, who recently recovered from an injury sustained in the Merseyside Derby, made his return against Manchester City last month. However, Slot revealed that Gakpo has picked up another knock.

“He was close to being ready, but unfortunately, I think it was yesterday, he had to block a shot and felt some pain again,” Slot said (via Liverpoolfc.com). “We brought him with us to assess his condition tomorrow and decide whether he can be part of the squad. But it will be a close call.”

Gakpo’s inclusion in the traveling squad suggests there’s still hope for his involvement, but with the League Cup final approaching and Liverpool pushing for a 20th Premier League title, the club may opt for caution. While the Reds have plenty of attacking options, missing a player with 16 goals and five assists this season would be a big setback.

For now, Gakpo’s availability remains uncertain, and fans will have to wait and see if he features against the French champions.
