Van Dijk delivers a brilliant response to put PSG’s Football Advisor in his place in the tunnel.

Liverpool had to fight hard to secure their victory over PSG, which led to strong emotions from both sides after the final whistle.

Virgil van Dijk once again played a key role in leading his team to victory, but new footage has revealed how he conducted himself off the pitch as well.

Video and audio from Canal+ captured PSG’s Football Advisor, Luis Campos, confronting the referees over Ibou Konaté’s challenge on Bradley Barcola. Campos was frustrated that the decision was not deemed a red card by the referee or VAR. At halftime, he repeatedly insisted to referee Davide Massa, “It’s a red card or penalty!” as his frustration grew.

That’s when Van Dijk stepped in, shutting down Campos with a sharp response: “Come on, it’s not Ligue 1, bro! Hey! It’s not Ligue 1 here, boys.”

It’s safe to assume that Campos, already agitated, did not appreciate the remark—making Van Dijk’s comeback even more satisfying.

Van Dijk Defends Konaté at Halftime

Despite some criticism from Ally McCoist, the Dutch defender delivered a commanding performance in Arne Slot’s backline, stepping up whenever Liverpool needed him.

After Harvey Elliott’s late goal, Van Dijk and Alisson Becker’s celebrations showed just how much the result meant, as both had put their bodies on the line throughout the match.

While his defensive brilliance has never been in doubt, Van Dijk’s leadership has become even more evident since taking the captain’s armband. His willingness to stand up for his teammates—whether on the pitch or in front of opposition officials—was on full display, with Campos experiencing it firsthand.
