At one point, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mo Salah appeared to be exchanging pushes, with Ibrahima Konaté and Harvey Elliott stepping in. To an untrained eye, it may have seemed like a heated argument, but the smiles on the surrounding players’ faces suggested it was nothing more than a lighthearted exchange.

Despite some media outlets framing it as a “tense training ground altercation,” there was little evidence to suggest any real conflict between two of Liverpool’s longest-serving players.

Following Salah’s two-goal performance against Southampton on Saturday, Trent had praised him, saying: “He’s a game-winner for us. They’re the type of players you need to be successful and to win this league.”

With both yet to sign new contracts, some might speculate that this incident signals discontent at Anfield. However, their performances this season indicate full commitment to Liverpool’s pursuit of silverware.
