On Tuesday morning, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg shared on X a list of five Liverpool players who could leave as part of a planned squad overhaul. He reported that the club is preparing for an “exciting summer transfer window” with several new signings expected, while potential departures include Caoimhin Kelleher, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa, and Diogo Jota.

If Liverpool are to reshape their squad significantly, as Plettenberg suggests, it is inevitable that some players will make way for new arrivals. However, fans may be concerned about too many departures, especially given the club’s limited signings since early 2024. Any major exits should only happen if suitable replacements are secured.

Among the five players mentioned, Kelleher appears the most likely to leave, given Alisson Becker’s dominance and the anticipated arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili. Chiesa could also be loaned out if his game time remains limited, having started just three matches since joining from Juventus last summer.

On the other hand, Jota’s departure would be surprising, despite his injury issues, while Endo and Elliott, though not regular starters, have proven their value as important squad players.
