Joshua Kimmich Extends Bayern Contract, Dashing Liverpool Hopes

Joshua Kimmich, who had been linked with a potential move to Liverpool, has officially signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich.

The German international had reportedly drawn interest from several top European clubs, including Real Madrid, while Premier League sides like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City were also seen as possible destinations.

Liverpool’s Midfield and Defensive Concerns

With Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract uncertainty and a lack of depth in the No.6 role behind Ryan Gravenberch, Kimmich could have been a valuable addition for Liverpool. However, Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that the 30-year-old has committed his future to Bayern until June 2029.

Kimmich explained his decision, citing Bayern’s strong team environment as crucial to achieving his sporting ambitions:
