Report: Liverpool targeting high-priced English star as potential Mo Salah replacement

Liverpool gearing up for major summer overhaul amid title charge

With Liverpool closing in on the Premier League title—needing just four more wins after Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Everton—the club is already laying the groundwork for a busy summer transfer window.

Despite their strong campaign, Liverpool are planning to invest heavily, with several key areas requiring attention under incoming manager Arne Slot. Star names like Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all approaching the end of their contracts, and could leave the club as free agents. Alexander-Arnold, in particular, has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Reinforcing the attack has emerged as Liverpool’s main priority, and they have identified West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen as a potential marquee signing. According to Football Insider, the Reds are lining up a significant bid for the versatile England international, who can operate across the frontline.

With doubts over Salah’s future and Darwin Nunez struggling for form, Bowen is seen as a player who could step into either role. While Newcastle’s Alexander Isak remains Liverpool’s top target, the club may be priced out of a move, with a deal likely to break the Premier League transfer record.

Bowen has been one of the bright spots in a difficult season for West Ham, tallying nine goals and seven assists in 29 appearances. As the Reds prepare for a possible attacking reshuffle, both Nunez and Salah could be on their way out this summer.
