Liverpool regular’s agent dreams of Real Madrid switch, but Bernabeu transfer seen as ‘unrealistic’

The agent of a Liverpool player has expressed interest in seeing his client at Real Madrid but admitted that such a move now appears unlikely.

Since Arne Slot took over from Jurgen Klopp last summer, Ryan Gravenberch has arguably been one of Liverpool’s standout improvers, rising from potential Galatasaray departure to becoming the third most-used player in the squad this season.

The idea of the 22-year-old leaving Anfield now seems far-fetched — even his agent acknowledges that.

Gravenberch’s agent reveals Real Madrid interest
In a recent interview with Marca, Gravenberch’s agent, Jose Fortes, stated that he believes the Dutch midfielder is good enough for Real Madrid and would love to see him in white. However, he admitted that Liverpool are unlikely to sell.

“He’s good enough for Real Madrid,” Fortes said. “We’d love for him to play there, but Liverpool would demand a very high fee. I know Real had their eye on him, but now it’s impossible.”

Understandably, Liverpool fans may not be thrilled by Fortes’ comments — especially given Real Madrid’s history of poaching Anfield talent and regularly knocking the Reds out of Europe. From losing Champions League finals to watching stars like Xabi Alonso, Michael Owen, and possibly Trent Alexander-Arnold move to the Bernabéu, the connection between the clubs hasn’t always been kind to Liverpool.

However, with Gravenberch thriving under Slot and tied to a long-term deal until 2028, there’s little reason to believe he’ll be leaving anytime soon. A future Real Madrid approach would be a testament to his progress, but for now, Liverpool fans can rest easy knowing their No. 38 remains firmly part of the club’s plans.
