Respected journalist David Ornstein has stated that Liverpool’s vice-captain is widely expected to join the Spanish giants once his deal runs out.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have reportedly started exploring possible replacements at right-back, with Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen among those linked.

Salah and Van Dijk contract news won’t impact Trent’s decision

He added:
“Even with the positive mood around Salah and Van Dijk extending their stays, I’m told Liverpool fans shouldn’t get their hopes up—Real Madrid remain calm and confident about securing Trent’s signature.”
