Van Dijk recently hinted that it could be a “big summer” behind the scenes at the club, and sporting director Richard Hughes seems to be making moves ahead of the transfer window.

Contract discussions underway with Konate, Bradley, and Jones

As reported by Graeme Bailey for TBR Football, Liverpool have opened talks with three more players: Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley, and Curtis Jones. Hughes is working to secure their futures alongside those of Salah and, soon, the club captain.

There’s optimism within the club that Konate will soon agree to new terms, while hopes are high that both Bradley and Jones will also sign contract extensions in the near future.

Liverpool keen to avoid repeat of this season’s contract concerns

Of the trio, Konate’s deal is the most pressing, with less than 15 months remaining. Similar situations apply to Andy Robertson and Caoimhin Kelleher, the latter of whom may leave in search of regular football.

Jones and Bradley still have two years left on their contracts, but given their growing roles and youth—at 24 and 21 respectively—Liverpool are eager to reward them with improved deals. There’s a growing belief that Bradley could be a long-term successor to Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.

Even with Van Dijk and Salah locked in, Hughes is clearly focused on the future. His proactive approach could spare fans another round of uncertainty and secure the club’s core players for the coming seasons.
