While there has been interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, De Bruyne reportedly prefers to continue competing at the top level in Europe. According to Belgian outlet De Standaard, he is not considering a move to the Middle East, which keeps the possibility of joining another elite European team open — including Liverpool.

Adding to the speculation is a personal connection: De Bruyne’s grandfather is a lifelong Liverpool fan, lending a sentimental touch to the potential transfer. Moreover, relocating to Liverpool would allow De Bruyne and his family to stay near Manchester, their home for the last ten years.

Speaking to Viaplay, De Bruyne admitted that a move to another Premier League side is possible:
