Liverpool legend Jürgen Klopp is contemplating a return to management with a club currently facing difficulties.

Legendary former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, who left the Merseyside club in 2024, is reportedly considering a return to the dugout after nearly a year away from coaching.

Currently serving as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer—a role he took on in January 2025—Klopp is said to be growing disillusioned with his executive position. The German tactician, who led Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League glory, remains one of the most successful managers in the club’s history.

Since handing over the reins to Arne Slot, who has managed Liverpool impressively, Klopp has stayed out of day-to-day coaching. However, he is now believed to be open to a comeback.

According to Brazilian outlet UOL, Klopp would only consider leaving his current role for the chance to manage Real Madrid or the Brazil national team. Real Madrid, recently knocked out of the Champions League by Arsenal and trailing Barcelona in the La Liga race, could be set for a managerial change at the end of the season—with Carlo Ancelotti’s future uncertain.

Though Klopp’s contract with Red Bull contains a clause allowing a departure for the German national team, he is reportedly also open to offers from Madrid or Brazil. His return would be a major story in world football, considering his achievements with both Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund.

While Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso is currently the front-runner for the Real Madrid job, Klopp remains a strong contender and continues to be linked with the Spanish giants. Fans would undoubtedly welcome his return to the touchline, drawn once again to his passionate and attacking style of play.
