Here’s a brief rewrite:
Florian Wirtz is beginning to show the quality Liverpool expected after his big-money move, with impressive performances against LASK, Brentford, Villarreal and Brighton.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has praised his recent improvement but urged the German midfielder to be “a bit more selfish” and take more shots instead of always looking for the final pass.
Wirtz says he is ignoring the outside criticism and simply focusing on his football, while his recent form suggests he is starting to find his confidence under Andoni Iraola.
